Living Outside of Yourself
One of the greatest lies men believe today is that the goal of life is comfort. Comfort in our schedule, comfort in our habits, comfort in our routines. The problem with living for comfort is that it makes a man small. A man who lives for himself eventually hits a ceiling. A man who lives beyond himself never stops growing.
I saw this firsthand during my time working on movie sets. The film industry is full of long days, intense deadlines, and people who are locked in on their own tasks. It did not matter who was tired, who was frustrated, or who was new. Everyone was expected to hustle. But the people who stood out were never the ones focused only on their own job.
It was always the men who looked up.
The ones who noticed when someone else was struggling.
The ones who helped carry equipment that was not theirs.
The ones who understood that the production succeeded because an entire crew chose to serve something bigger than themselves.
Those were the men everyone respected.
Those were the men others wanted to follow.
Living outside of yourself does not mean ignoring your own needs. It means shifting your focus. It means waking up each day and asking:
Who can I serve? Who can I strengthen? Who can I impact today?
When a man steps outside his own world, things begin to change.
His problems feel smaller.
His purpose becomes clearer.
His heart opens up.
His leadership rises.
His strength grows.
His courage becomes contagious.
A man who lives outside of himself becomes a man others can count on. He creates space for others to thrive. He lifts the standard for his family, his friends, and his community.
Every morning in F3 we practice this. We push ourselves, but we also push each other. We show up for the man next to us. That is living outside yourself. That is how transformation begins. That is how movements grow.
The strongest men in the world are strong because they stopped living only for themselves.
